How Big Is Wynn Al Marjan's Casino? The Floor vs Macau, Singapore and Las Vegas
Wynn Al Marjan's casino is 225,000 sq ft, per Wynn's 10-K. How it compares with Wynn Las Vegas, Marina Bay Sands and Wynn Palace, using filed figures only.

Last updated: 18 October 2026
Wynn Al Marjan Island will have 225,000 square feet of gaming area, about 20,900 square metres, according to Wynn Resorts' 2025 annual report. On the operators' own filed figures, that is about 13 per cent more than Wynn Las Vegas and about 43 per cent more than Marina Bay Sands in Singapore. It is also less than half the size of Wynn Palace in Macau. Wynn has not said how many tables or slot machines will fill the space.
Key takeaways
- Wynn's FY2025 10-K gives Wynn Al Marjan Island "225,000 square feet of gaming area", the only size Wynn has filed with the SEC.
- On filed figures, that is larger than Wynn Las Vegas (about 199,000 sq ft), Encore Boston Harbor (about 215,000) and Marina Bay Sands (about 157,000), but smaller than Wynn Macau (about 294,000) and Wynn Palace (about 468,000).
- The wording differs. Wynn says "casino space" for its open resorts and "gaming area" for Al Marjan. Las Vegas Sands says "gaming space" for Marina Bay Sands. None of the filings gives a precise definition.
- Wynn has published no table or slot count for Al Marjan. Its December 2025 investor deck assumes about 11,000 gaming positions across a three-resort UAE market.
- Compared with its 1,530 rooms, the floor is big: about 147 sq ft of gaming per room, against about 42 at Wynn Las Vegas and about 85 at Marina Bay Sands.
How big is the Wynn Al Marjan casino?
225,000 square feet. The figure appears in the business description of Wynn Resorts' annual report for 2025, filed on 2 March 2026. It lists "an over 1,500-room hotel, luxury villas, a high-end shopping mall, a state-of-the-art meeting and convention facility, an exclusive spa, more than 20 restaurants and lounges, 225,000 square feet of gaming area" and a nightclub and beach club.
In metric terms that is about 20,900 square metres, or roughly three full-size football pitches. Reporting on Wynn's October 2024 investor presentation said the gaming area was about 4 per cent of the resort's gross floor area. So the rest of the building is mostly hotel, restaurants, retail and entertainment. The gaming area takes up only a small share of the floor plan.
The figure has not changed since the October 2024 presentation, even though the opening has moved to September 2027.
How does it compare with Macau, Singapore and Las Vegas?
For a fair comparison, we used only figures the operators file with the US Securities and Exchange Commission: Wynn Resorts' 2025 10-K for its own resorts and Las Vegas Sands' 2025 10-K for Marina Bay Sands. Press figures and marketing claims are left out. The metric throughout is each operator's own stated gaming or casino floor area, in square feet, as given in its FY2025 annual report.
Property — Gaming area (sq ft) — Table games — Slots
- Wynn Palace, Macau — ~468,000 — 305 — 693
- Wynn Macau (incl. Encore) — ~294,000 — 253 — 911
- Wynn Al Marjan Island, RAK — 225,000 — not published — not published
- Encore Boston Harbor — ~215,000 — 172 + 24 poker — ~2,777
- Wynn Las Vegas (incl. Encore) — ~199,000 — 231 — 1,558
- Marina Bay Sands, Singapore — ~157,000 — ~568 — ~3,000 (incl. ETGs)
These are not perfectly like-for-like figures, and readers should know why. Wynn's 10-K calls the area at its open resorts "casino space" and the area at Al Marjan "gaming area". Las Vegas Sands calls Marina Bay Sands' area "gaming space". For its Macau resorts, Sands uses "gaming space and gaming support area", which also counts back-of-house space. That is why we have left The Venetian Macao (about 503,000 sq ft on that wider definition) out of the table. None of the filings says exactly what is inside the line. Treat differences of a few per cent as noise. The big gaps, such as Wynn Palace being twice Al Marjan's size and Marina Bay Sands being about 70 per cent of it, are real.
The table excludes Resorts World Sentosa, Singapore's other casino, because its operator does not file with the SEC, so there is no equivalent filed figure. Singapore law caps its gaming area at 15,000 square metres, but that is a maximum, not a measurement.
Is it bigger than Wynn Las Vegas?
Yes, by about 26,000 sq ft, or 13 per cent. Wynn Las Vegas and Encore together report about 199,000 sq ft of casino space with 231 table games and 1,558 slots, across a resort of 4,748 rooms. Al Marjan will have about a third as many rooms and more gaming space.
That says a lot about the business Wynn expects. Las Vegas earns most of its revenue outside the casino. Wynn's 2025 segment figures show Las Vegas Operations made US$649 million in casino revenue out of US$2.57 billion in total. At its December 2025 investor tour, Wynn said 70–89 per cent of Al Marjan's revenue would come from gaming, G3 Newswire reported. That is closer to a Macau mix than to the Strip.
Is it bigger than Marina Bay Sands?
Yes, by about 68,000 sq ft, or 43 per cent. That comparison matters more than the Las Vegas one. Analysts at Wolfe Research have used Singapore, also a wealthy market with few casino licences, as the benchmark for what Al Marjan could earn.
Singapore limits the size of its casinos by law. Under the Casino Control (Maximum Gaming Area) Order 2026, in force since 21 September 2026, Marina Bay Sands' gaming area may not exceed 16,000 square metres, about 172,000 sq ft, and Resorts World Sentosa's 15,000. A separate order caps machines at 3,000 and 2,900 respectively, counting each electronic table-game terminal as one machine. Singapore's "gaming area" excludes aisles, cages, bars and other ancillary space. Al Marjan's 20,900 square metres is about 30 per cent more than Singapore allows its largest casino (our arithmetic, and the definitions may differ).
Marina Bay Sands packs about 568 tables and about 3,000 slots and electronic table games into 157,000 sq ft, and it is very productive. Las Vegas Sands reported US$4.21 billion of casino revenue there in 2025. A larger floor does not guarantee more revenue. How full the floor is, and who is playing, matter more. We look at the money in our revenue explainer on 22 October.
How much gaming space per hotel room?
Dividing filed gaming space by filed room counts shows how much each resort leans on the casino. This is our arithmetic, not an industry statistic:
- Wynn Las Vegas: 199,000 sq ft / 4,748 rooms = about 42 sq ft per room
- Marina Bay Sands: 157,000 / 1,844 = about 85
- Wynn Al Marjan Island: 225,000 / 1,530 = about 147
- Wynn Palace: 468,000 / 1,706 = about 274
- Wynn Macau: 294,000 / 1,014 = about 290
- Encore Boston Harbor: 215,000 / 671 = about 320
Al Marjan falls between Singapore and Macau. Resorts at the high end of this list tend to rely on players who do not stay in the hotel, such as day-trippers from greater Boston or visitors who cross into Macau for a short trip. Wynn's model for Al Marjan points the same way. Its December 2025 deck assumes frequent short visits, with an average length of stay of 1.2 days and about three trips a year, from a population of 2.4 billion people within a four-hour flight. A floor that large is built for more players than the tower can sleep.
How many tables and slot machines will Wynn Al Marjan have?
Wynn has not said. We checked the 2025 10-K, the Q2 2026 10-Q and the 73-slide December 2025 UAE Market Tour deck, and none gives a table count, a slot count or a gaming-position number for the resort.
The nearest figure is a market-level assumption. The deck sizes the UAE market at US$3–5 billion of gross gaming revenue, "based on 11k gaming positions in the market", across three integrated resorts: Wynn plus two competitors. That is for the whole country, not Wynn's floor. Any article giving a precise Al Marjan table or slot count is using a source we have not been able to find.
The GCGRA's vendor register gives some clues about likely suppliers. As our vendor-licence coverage has tracked, firms licensed to supply in the UAE include slot makers such as Aristocrat, IGT, Light & Wonder, Konami and Novomatic, and the table-game specialist TCS John Huxley. Being licensed is not the same as holding a Wynn contract.
Who will be allowed onto the floor?
That has not been decided publicly either. The National reported on 5 August 2026 that Wynn holds a renewable 15-year gaming licence for Ras Al Khaimah, and that the GCGRA, the federal regulator, "will determine who is permitted into the gaming area". No minimum age, entry fee, dress code or residency rule has been published.
That matters for the floor size. A 225,000 sq ft casino sized for a large domestic audience would look oversized if residents faced Singapore-style restrictions. Until the GCGRA publishes entry rules, the size of the floor is the clearest sign of how much demand Wynn expects.
Gambling is still not legal anywhere in the UAE outside the licensed framework, and the Wynn floor does not open until September 2027.
