Inside Wynn Oasis: The 26-Acre Community Wynn Built for 7,000 Casino Workers

Last updated: 17 August 2026

Oasis: A Wynn Community is a purpose-built staff village adjacent to Wynn Al Marjan Island in Ras Al Khaimah, designed to house more than 7,000 of the people who will run the UAE's first licensed gaming resort. Announced by Wynn Al Marjan Island in late January 2026 and scheduled to welcome team members beginning in 2026, it spans 26 acres across 15 residential communities, with six staff restaurants, a training campus and a guest building for visiting families.

Key takeaways

  • Wynn Oasis covers 105,267 square metres (26 acres) adjacent to Wynn Al Marjan Island and Marjan Avenue, a 15-minute drive from the resort.
  • It is planned to house more than 7,000 colleagues, about 80 per cent of Wynn Al Marjan Island's workforce, in 15 residential buildings.
  • Amenities include six in-house dining outlets, a gym, two pools, an indoor sports arena, a cinema, a medical clinic and an on-site training campus.
  • Wynn's August 2026 fact sheet describes the community welcoming team members beginning in 2026; no exact move-in date has been published.
  • The community supports a hiring plan of roughly 2,750 recruits in 2026, taking headcount from 251 at the end of 2025 to 3,000 by 31 December.

What Wynn Oasis is

Wynn describes Oasis as colleague accommodation "delivered to guest hospitality standards". Apartments come with private bathrooms, fitted kitchens, smart TVs, workspaces and high-speed Wi-Fi, plus a weekly laundry service for bedding. A separate guest building, The Beach House, will put up residents' visiting families, with a concierge service.

The design aim, per the January announcement, is a residential village rather than employee housing: more than 65,000 plants and 500 trees, shaded walkways, a one-kilometre running track, an outdoor venue called La Rêve Plaza for celebrations and open-air cinema, and Al Safa Garden, a quieter retreat.

Six staff restaurants, and The Pearl

Dining is run in-house by Wynn's own culinary team across six outlets. Two are sit-down venues: The Reef, a buffet-style restaurant, and Victory Sports Bar & Lounge, a 197-seat sports bar. Four grab-and-go concepts cover everyday meals: Stacked (burgers), Slice (pizza), Zen (Asian rice bowls) and a coffee house.

A multi-amenity hub called The Pearl gathers fitness, entertainment and wellness facilities under one roof: a Technogym-equipped gym, two swimming pools and an indoor arena for padel, tennis and football. Residents also get a cinema, a karaoke studio and an e-sports lounge, plus practical services from groceries and banking to a medical clinic and pharmacy.

Wynn University and the hiring drive behind it

A defining feature is Wynn University, a working training campus inside the community with professional culinary kitchens and F&B laboratories. It exists because Wynn has to build a casino-and-resort workforce in a country that has never had one.

The numbers set out the scale. Wynn Resorts' 2025 annual report put the resort's headcount at 251 at the end of last year, mostly senior executives and administrative staff, with line-staff onboarding set to "rapidly increase over the course of 2026". The plan, reported by Khaleej Times on 15 February 2026, is around 2,750 hires this year and 3,000 employees by 31 December. President Max Tappeiner has put total recruitment at roughly 8,500, with more than 9,000 direct and indirect jobs projected across the emirates. We detail the roles and how to apply in our Wynn Al Marjan jobs and careers guide.

"We believe that exceptional guest experiences begin with how we care for our people," Tappeiner said in the Oasis announcement.

What is confirmed, and what is not

Confirmed, from Wynn's announcement and trade-press coverage on 2 February 2026: the size, the 7,000-plus capacity, the 80 per cent workforce share, the 15 buildings, the amenity list and the 2026 welcome window.

Not confirmed: an exact move-in date. Wynn's August 2026 fact sheet describes the community welcoming team members "beginning in 2026", and as of mid-August we have found no Wynn statement or press report confirming the first residents have moved in. Rent, eligibility and allocation terms have never been published; candidates should raise them at offer stage. The wider resort timeline has also moved: after the "modest delay" Wynn Resorts CEO Craig Billings flagged in May 2026, the opening was confirmed for September 2027 on 4 August 2026 — see what the delay means.
